These rules exist to keep the directory accurate, fair, and useful for the gardening community.

Using the Site

  1. Use the site respectfully. Offensive, abusive, or harmful behavior is not allowed.
  2. You may only use StLouisGardener.com for lawful purposes. Do not use the site to post, share, or promote anything illegal, fraudulent, or harmful.
  3. We may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.
  4. All content you submit must be accurate, truthful, and verifiable.

Business Listings & Claims

  1. This is a curated directory, not pay-for-play advertising. Every listing is reviewed and may be edited or removed to keep the information accurate and trustworthy.
  2. Listings must reflect factual details about a business, its products, and its services. Keyword stuffing, exaggerated claims, or false information about product selection, inventory, or availability are not permitted.
  3. Each field in a listing must be used only for its intended purpose. For example, business hours must list hours only, and descriptions must describe the business, not sales promotions. Temporary or promotional content is available only in paid tiers and not permitted in free listings.
  4. Only locally owned businesses are eligible. Large chains and big box stores are not included.
  5. New listings and claims are manually reviewed. Approval is not guaranteed.
  6. Businesses may request edits or removal of their listing by contacting us. We will review each request, but approval is not guaranteed. We may notify you of edits or removals, but are not required to do so.

Content & Intellectual Property

  1. Only upload or submit content you own or have permission to use, such as photos, logos, or text.
  2. Do not copy or paste licensed, copyrighted, or third-party content without documented permission from the rights holder.
  3. If you submit content on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to do so.
  4. By submitting or claiming a listing, you grant StLouisGardener.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, reproduce, and display your submitted content on the site and in related promotions of the directory. You keep ownership of your content.
  5. We may edit or remove any content at our discretion, even if it does not break a specific rule, if it does not fit the purpose of the site.
  6. If your actions or content cause a legal claim against StLouisGardener.com, you agree to cover our costs, including reasonable attorney fees. This includes claims related to inaccurate information, intellectual property infringement, or unlawful use of the site.

Your Account

  1. You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure and private.
  2. All activity and content submitted through your account is your responsibility.
  3. Accounts may not be shared or transferred without our permission.
  4. Users who have been banned may not create new accounts without written approval.
  5. Our primary way of contacting you will be the email address connected to your account. Notices sent to this email will be considered delivered. You are responsible for keeping it current.
  6. If more than one person tries to claim or edit the same listing, or disputes arise between users, we will review and make the final decision at our discretion. Our decisions are binding within the site, and we are not liable for disagreements, damages, or outcomes between users or businesses.
  7. User accounts, listings, and any related rights may not be sold, assigned, or transferred without our written permission. Attempts to do so may result in suspension or removal.

Paid Options & Refunds

  1. Basic listings are free. Future paid tiers or features may be offered, but they will be optional.
  2. All payments are final unless explicitly stated otherwise in a specific offer.
  3. No refunds will be issued for banned accounts, removed content, or discontinued services or features.

Site Availability

  1. We work to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
  2. We are not responsible for downtime or disruptions caused by events outside our control, including technical failures, internet outages, or events such as natural disasters.

What We’re Not Responsible For

  1. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee the completeness or correctness of listings or user-submitted content.
  2. We are not responsible for business outcomes, decisions, losses, or damages that come from using the site.
  3. If, for any reason, we are found responsible for a claim, our total liability will never exceed the amount you have paid us. For free users, that amount is zero.
  4. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost business.
  5. Listings are for informational purposes only. A business appearing in the directory does not mean we endorse, guarantee, or recommend it. We are not responsible for the conduct, products, or services of any business listed.
  6. Listings may include links to external websites or social media pages. We do not control or monitor third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, security, or practices. Visiting external links is at your own risk.

If the Site or Rules Change

  1. We may suspend, discontinue, or shut down the site or any feature at any time, without notice.
  2. If the site or a feature is discontinued, we are not obligated to maintain listings, content, or user accounts.
  3. If your account is closed or the site is ever discontinued, some rules still apply. These include those about content you submitted, indemnification, liability, and legal matters.
  4. We may update or change these terms at any time. If we make changes, we will update the date on this page. By continuing to use the site after changes are posted, you agree to the updated terms.

Legal Details

  1. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, and any disputes will be handled in Missouri courts.
  2. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms will still apply.
